The Silver Line planning persons also have medical backgrounds and skillfully consider obstacles that may arise based on our clients’ individual challenges.
Your comfort and safety are of primary concern at all times. The Silver Line travel companion will provide medication reminders, offering of meals, snacks and hydration, as well as all personal hygiene assistance. All luggage is tagged and transported including items that are checked and those carried on board.
We know communication is vital from our first conversation with you or your loved one until the completion of your journey. Your travel companion will communicate to all family, friends, or designated professionals who may be involved in this journey to ensure a seamless travel experience for all involved.
Silver Line travel companions are all experts in mobility and safety with those using a variety of medical equipment. This expertise includes management of wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen, and catheters. Their skill set also includes equipment utilized by the airports and airlines for mobility challenges on the plane , train, or cruise line. Should wheelchair transportation be needed, our travel planning department coordinates this for you.

As co-owners of Silver Line Travel Companions, Amber Lyon, OTR/L, and Danielle Vance, OTR/L, have more than 50 years of combined experience as occupational therapists caring for the senior population. We will provide a safe and caring non-emergency medical travel experience for you and/or your loved one.
We saw a great need for a service to assist those who desire to travel or relocate close to family and friends. Family members were always willing but not always comfortable assisting a loved one with mobility challenges through the maze of travel. Silver line was incorporated in 2006 to meet the needs of our clients to bring families together and provide travel opportunities not previously thought possible.
Our team consists of licensed medical professionals which include occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics. Our travel companions have passed stringent background checks and thorough training from Amber and Danielle streamlining exemplary travel services for the concierge experience.

Our staff at Silver Line puts the utmost emphasis on the clients’ request for their desired airport, time frame for travel, physical comfort, and safety. If travel includes relocating from a community where professional staff is assisting, we coordinate travel with those persons as well for a seamless transition to your new home. An itinerary is formulated for your review and acceptance, and we take it from there. All details are managed and confirmed prior to travel and communicated to whomever you desire. A match for the perfect travel companion will be made.
Each journey is unique. Prices and fees vary depending on flight availability, preferences, level of care and duration. We make every effort to minimize ground time for our team members upon completion of your journey while assuring sufficient time is built in for delays and a successful closure to your trip. Discounts are given for extended travel requests. Payments gladly accepted are cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and some forms of electronic payment.
Unfortunately, this is becoming more common with air travel. Our team is prepared to navigate the necessary modifications for you as we remain by your side. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities. All parties involved are notified immediately as travel plans are updated.
That would be wonderful! Silver Line will provide the forms needed to facilitate bringing your loyal companion on board. Airlines differ on their regulations for pet transport, and we gladly assist in this process. We are animal lovers ourselves and are happy to travel with fluffy if your traveling plans take you in different directions at different times. In that scenario we manage all aspects of delivering fluffy safe and sound to your chosen destination.
Yes. Separate sleeping accommodations will be made for extended travel. Some such trips have included cruises, weddings, graduations, overseas travel or extended holiday visits with family.
Excellent question! We do employ nurses as part of the Silver Line team yet our policy dictates medication cannot be directly administered. We gladly remind the traveler to take their medications as prescribed. In the case of diabetic testing, if using the finger prick method, the client must be able to complete this independently.
Of course. Our staff manages the necessary documentation for use of oxygen in air travel. You must have your own approved oxygen supply.
